Bologna - Madonna dei Fornelli
Lenght: 56,40 Km
Duration: almost 5 hours
From Bologna train Station you have to go to Via Indipendenza and go to Piazza Maggiore (the main square at the end of the street). Piazza Maggiore is the starting point of Via degli Dei. It can be also the arriving point if you start from Firenze. Then you have to go to via Saragozza and go on along the longest arcade in Europe. This is the arcade which takes you from the city center up to the Beata Vergine di San Luca Church. You have to go through 666 arches and then turn to the right in Via Bregoli. This way will take you to the Reno river and to Casalecchio di Reno Talon Park. You have to follow the Reno river and you will arrive at San Gherardo Oasis in via Rio Conco.
We suggest you to leave Via degli Dei way only for few metres and go on Vizzano Bridge. This is a very beautiful and particular bridge. Come back on Via degli Dei way and you will arrive to Sasso Marconi. Go on in via Ganzole and follow the Vite del Fantini sign on your left. Vite del Fantini is a very ancient grape tree, found in 1961. Then go in via delle Orchidee. Go on and and you will arrive to Badolo. Here you will see Antica Hostaria di Badolo restaurant (it is between Badolo and Brento) and after this restaurant if you want you can leave Via degli Dei way (about 50 metres) and see Monte del Frate Colombario.
Go on with your bike and you will arrive at Monte Adone, the top of Contrafforte Pliocenico (here you can go up to the mountain and see very beautiful landscapes). Continue to bike and you will arrive first at Brento and then at Monzuno. Here you have to go on the main street road (to Madonna dei Fornelli) and pass the Loiano crossing point. After it you will see a sports area and here you have to turn to the right up on a no-car street. After 20 minutes (almost) you will arrive at "Le Campagne". Follow the Via degli Dei sign to Monte Galletto (where you can see big wind power poles) and you will arrive at the main Madonna dei Fornelli square.
